Company of Foos by Paul Davidson

This book isn't my normal genre, but I really enjoyed the break! This was well written and interesting the whole way through. Cameron moves his entire family for a new job that seems far too good to be true. His wife struggles at first, and then seems to find her footing as Cam looses his. The Company is every corporate company we've worked for that has overworked and underappreciated us. It's so relatable, especially the interactions between people and how they treat each other.

The struggle that Cam goes through is one I think we've all dealt with in some capacity, and I think that's one of the reasons I liked it so much! The work-life balance and relationships with coworkers, community, and family are issues that everyone deals with, and the highlight here is that any of us could find ourselves in Cam's situation. I think, in the tech industry especially, it's important to take Simon's advice and step back sometimes, to reassess the questions we're asking ourselves. To go from whether or not we can, to whether or not we should. I like the overall message that is threaded through this book as well, the concept of happiness versus success, and where the balance lies.

Funny, interesting, and relevant, Company of Foos is one to add to your TBR this year for sure!
