This is a retelling of snow white and the huntsman, but it was also very unique and well written. Sabine is essentially sold to Rian, a powerful high lord. Her escort, Wolf, is a beast of a man, but she's confident she can escape him before arriving as Rian's bride.
As they make their ridiculous journey, Wolf begins to treat her with more and more respect, as he realizes that she is more than his master's bride. Sabine can't help but grow closer to Wolf as well, as he continues to defy his words with his actions. With the help of her horse, Myst, Sabine uses her godkissed gifts to help her stay strong and safe.
I loved watching the way thigs grew between Wolf and Sabine, but my gods that boy is an idiot sometimes. Definitely looking forward to book 2 to see what Sabine makes of her new situation!
